Cameron Diaz has made a spectacular return to Hollywood after an 11-year break.
The queen is back. The actor has reversed her retirement by appearing alongside Jamie Foxx in Netflix’s Back in Action as a former CIA operative.
That movie title seems like the ideal choice, doesn’t it?
Diaz’s major break came in 1994 with her well-known part in The Mask. She then starred in films such as The Holiday, Bad Teacher, The Other Woman, Knight and Day, and Charlie’s Angels.
Although various other genres are represented, she has established herself as a favorite in the rom-com genre. However, just days after making a significant comeback, the 52-year-old made a career decision that may not be to everyone’s taste.
Back in Action’s 25 percent Rotten Tomatoes rating indicates that reviewers weren’t impressed, but Diaz appears dedicated to a different approach.
When she appeared on Capital Breakfast with Jordan North, Chris Stark, and Sian Welby, she declared, “I’ve moved past my ‘rom-com’ phase.”

Instead, the actress has decided that she is in her “rom-com” phase right now.
She made a similar statement in an interview with Empire: “Mom-coms only, no more rom-coms.”
We can presume that Diaz would prefer to play a mother than the romantic lead in modern humorous films, even though she did not clarify her meaning.
That is, assuming she makes any more film appearances, as she has declared her intention to make a permanent comeback. I’m not sure how I feel about it. It’s difficult to say.
“If I speak it, it will become this. I still have the choice to decline any future film proposals, but I may also choose to accept if I want to.

“I’m not defining anything. Right now, all I’m willing to do is what’s best for my family and myself.
Regardless, she is returning to the role of Princess Fiona in Shrek 5, which is now scheduled for release in December 2026.
Despite Back in Action’s severe reviews from reviewers, fans are thrilled to see Diaz return to the big screen.
Newsday said, “Diaz needs a better project, but her return is welcome.”
We Live in Entertainment concurred that Diaz maintains her charm in these parts and has a great rapport with Foxx. Since it doesn’t add up, I’m wondering if there’s a better reason to see these two play again.
