Setting Off on an Adventure

Sarah, a spirited woman with a passion for adventure, embarked on a day trip to the mountains with her childhood friend, Emma.

Capturing Moments

Excited about their outing, Sarah snapped a photo of herself hugging her horse against the majestic mountain backdrop, intending to share the experience with her husband, Jack, who couldn’t join them.

Sharing the Excitement

Posting the photo online, Sarah felt eager to involve Jack in her joy. However, her excitement turned to dismay when Jack called moments later, expressing disbelief.

Unraveling the Deception

Jack, seeing the photo, immediately contacted Emma to confirm Sarah’s whereabouts. Emma’s revelation that she was picking up her daughter from school contradicted Sarah’s claim of being with her in the mountains.

Consequences Unfold

Realizing the gravity of her deception, Sarah’s heart sank. Despite her protests, Jack’s trust had been irrevocably shattered.

The Devastating Outcome

In a heart-wrenching decision, Jack chose to end their marriage, the innocent photo becoming the catalyst for their relationship’s dissolution.

Reflecting on Betrayal

Sarah grappled with the aftermath, regretting the deception that led to the downfall of her marriage. The story underscores the importance of honesty and transparency in relationships and the devastating consequences of betrayal.

We are writing to share with sadness that our sweetest girl Shirley is available for adoption once again. This girl has certainly had more than her share of heartbreak in life and now one more has been added. It seems her and loving and dedicated adoptive mama has let us know that she has been diagnosed with a very complicated illness, and is going to be unable to continue to care for Shirley. We are looking for a foster home for her or preferably an adoptive home. As some of you may remember 2-3 year old Shirley’s details are that she is dog friendly, cat friendly as long as the cats don’t run away then she’ll chase. She is kid friendly and we recommend children over 5 for pretty much all of our dogs. She is also good in a crate and good in the car. She loves walks and outings. After several weeks in her foster home, she was beginning to warm up to her foster dad, but any men in her life would need to understand and be patient with the fact that she will take longer to warm up to them, and they should be prepared to offer lots of patience. Shirley does seem to experience some skin itching which is new but in her Texas history. So, she is on a more allergen safe diet at this time as well as some allergy meds that help her feel less itchy. Please share the heck out this post to help our lovely girl during these really dark times for dogs and rescues. ]]>

And a far bigger proportion of the neurons in Kali’s brain are dedicated purely to the detection of movement.

1,793 lightyears from Earth an young, open cluster of brilliant stars graces the sky right next to the Great Orion Nebula. It’s easy to overlook these simple, gorgeous sights when they sit so close to an object like M42. I spent some time with my largest telescope to be able to capture and share this view with you.

I hope you like it and have a great day!

Quick sneak peek at the data I am collecting to capture M104, also known as the Sombrero Galaxy, in greater detail than I ever have before. This is just the first 14 hours of Luminance data, but I’m so excited about the details that are starting to emerge. I find this object to be so beguiling!

I hope you like it and have a great day!

Sarah’s Galaxy https://legendhorizon.com/sarahs-galaxy/ https://legendhorizon.com/sarahs-galaxy/#respond Thu, 12 Oct 2023 17:59:17 +0000 https://legendhorizon.com/?p=724 [...]]]>

Most often called the Hamburger galaxy due to the massive lane of outer dust that appears to bisect the galaxy from our view on Earth, this is NGC 3628. It’s a spiral galaxy that is approximately 35 million lightyears away that we witness from the side. Given its relatively distorted shape and 300,000 lightyear long tidal tail (a sliver of which you can see in the upper left of my image), it has been dramatically impacted by interactions with other galaxies. This image is a part of the Leo Triplet which I captured as part of a massive 4 panel mosaic last April and will share with you soon.

This galaxy is also known as Sarah’s Galaxy, after the 19th century poet Sarah Williams who wrote the poem The Old Astronomer:

“Though my soul may set in darkness, it will rise in perfect light; I have loved the stars too truly to be fearful of the night.”

Isn’t that beautiful!?
